This year we are listing 240 different hosta varieties. Each cultivar starts with the item number followed by name, hybridizer, descriptive information, and price.

1. Abba Dabba Do (Avent) Medium green leaves with nice yellow edge,upright growth habit. It’s a sport of H. Sun Power and also likes plenty of sun. (L) $8.00

2. Abiqua Drinking Gourd (Walden-West) Near round, blue-green, thick leaves that have an outstanding cupped appearance. (L) $10.00

3. Abiqua Moonbeam (Walden-West) (Also known as H. Mayan Moon) A sport of H. August Moon, attractive blue-green heart-shaped leaves are bordered by a two-inch wide irregular yellow margin. (M) $10.00

4. Alex Summers (Santa Lucia) Those of us who know and respect the man would expect the hosta bearing his name to be equally impressive. You won’t be disappointed. This is a wonderful dark green centered mutation of H. Gold Regal. (M) $25.00

5. Allan P. McConnell (Seaver) Small green white-rimmed foliage, compact mound, purple flowers late July, vigorous grower. (S) $5.00

6. Alvantine Taylor (Minks) Long grey-blue leaves with a gold margin. Its large leaves become nicely corrugated. Early white flowers. Mutated from H. Lady In Waiting. (L) $15.00

7. Antioch (Ruh/Hofer) Margins of creamy white on medium green, flat, long-tapered pointed leaves. (M/L) $6.00

8. Aqua Velva (Vaughn) Attractive blue-green foliage with intense corrugation, fragrant lavender flowers in July. (L) $8.00

9. Aristocrat (Walters Gardens) From a best seller, H. Halcyon, this is a white-margined form, so it grows more slowly, but is quite lovely.(M) $12.00

10. Aspen Gold (Grapes/AHS) Cupped gold leaves, crinkled and puckered, upright, white flowers in mid-summer. (L) $10.00

11. August Moon (Summers) One of the earliest and still one of the best large gold hosta, slightly cupped foliage with maturity, light lavender flowers mid-summer. (L) $6.00

12. Austin Dickinson (Lachman) Medium green center with wide white margin, fragrant, purple flowers in July-August. (L) $10.00

13. Azure Snow (Ruh) Blue-green color, white underside on leaves with thick substance. They are also unusually shaped and undulated. (M) $15.00

14. Big Daddy (Aden) Intensely corrugated, deep blue-green foliage, whitish flowers in July, a fine hosta. (L) $8.00

15. Bitsy Gold (Savoy) Leaves are gold, long and narrow and slightly wavy. A H. longissima hybrid. (S) $9.00

16. Blonde Elf (Aden) A small golden hosta who’s leaves are thick and narrow, quite nice! (S) $6.00

17. Blue Angel (Aden) One of the largest blue hosta, thick-substanced, near-white flowers, impressive landscape plant. (XL) $8.00

18. Blue Arrow (Anderson) Thick blue-green pointed leaves form nice clump. Nice addition to any collection. (M) $8.00

19. Blue Cadet (Aden) Heavy texture, small, heart-shaped blue-green leaves, nice clumper, good edging plant. (M) $5.00

20. Blue Danube (Smith) One of the bluest hostas; thick-substanced, rounded foliage. (S) $12.00

21. Blue Diamond (Smith) Intensely blue foliage, lavender flowers late July, one of the largest tardianas. (M) $10.00

26. Blue Plate Special (Seaver) Good substanced blue, whose leaves are held horizontally. (M) $10.00

27. Blue Seer (Aden) Large, very blue, corrugated leaves, heavy substance. (L) $10.00

28. Blue Splendor (Zilis) Thick substance, deep blue cupped foliage with dense clusters of near-white flowers in June. An outstanding specimen. (M/L) $15.00

29. Blue Umbrellas (Aden) Giant mound of very large foliage that puckers downward; bluish color in spring, dark green thereafter, near-white flowers in June. (XL) $6.00

30. Blue Wedgwood (Smith/BHHS) Nice grey-blue clump that remains a popular hosta. Good growth rate. (M) $6.00

31. Bobbie Sue (Owens) This is a nice, new, wide-white-margined hosta with a dark center. Will grow into a wide clump. (M) $15.00

32. Bold Edger (Vaughn) Medium green leaves with margin that changes from yellow to white. Good substance. (L) $8.00

33. Bold Ruffles (Arett) Extra large leaves are blue-green, heavily corrugated and thick, whitish flowers on tall scapes at the end of June. Starts slow, but worth the wait. (XL) .$15.00

34. Bottom Line (Anderson) Another H. Sum and Substance sport. Large green leaf with gold edge; probably the same as H. Lady Isobell Barnett. (XL) $15.00

35. Brenda’s Beauty (Keller) Beautiful early color of chartreuse in the center, changing to light yellow, on medium green leaves. One of many sports from H. Gold Standard, but probably the best. (M) $15.00

36. Brim Cup (Aden) Thick substanced leaves and a sharp contrast between creamy white margin and dark green center. Slow grower, try this one in a container. (S-M) $8.00

37. Buckshaw Blue (Smith/AHS) Exceptionally blue-green leaves. A slow grower but well worth the wait. (M) $8.00

38. Camelot (Smith/BHHS) Bright blue leaves with nice shape and good substance, near-white flowers in July. (M) $12.00

39. Candy Dish (Summers/Hawes/Wrede) An Azalea Patch presentation from the 2003 convention. Named by the one and only Alex Summers, it is a Japanese seedling from H.’Urijiro Hachijo’. The dark green leaves are held out and have a wonderful ruffled edge. (S/M) $25.00

40. Carnival (Lachman) Large green, heart-shaped leaves with wide yellow margins that streak to the center. (M) $8.00

41. Carriage Wheels (Summers) Nice round leaves with gold center and blue-green edge. (M) $12.00

42. Center of Attention (Kulpa) A new hosta with distinction. Elliptical deep green leaf with yellow center that lightens. Upright growth habit. (S) $20.00

43. Chantilly Lace (Lachman) Small blue-green leaf with a nice creamy edge and a twist. (S) $10.00

44. Chartreuse Wiggles (Aden) Bright gold, thin and lance-shaped leaves with wiggly edges make it a worthwhile addition. (S) $8.00

45. Cheatin’ Heart (Zumbar) Light gold, wavy, oval leaves form an adorable little mound. (S) $10.00

46. Cherry Berry (Lachman) Lance shaped, green-margined, white centered leaves noted for red petioles. (M) $15.00

47. Cherub (Lachman) Small heart-shaped green leaves with a white margin; nice little mound. (S) $12.00

48. Christmas Tree (Vaughn/Seaver) One of the best cream-edged sieboldianas, distinctive in the garden, a favorite at our nursery. (L) $8.00

49. Cinnamon Sticks (Herold) This is a green hosta but it is distinctive. Nice heart-shaped leaves, with lots of red dots on the petioles. (M) $20.00

50. clausa (Nakai) Dark green leaves and interesting, near purple flowers that do not open, rapid growing. Good for a mass planting. (S) $5.00

51. Colossal (Savory) Giant green leaves with deep veins. Nice background plant. Pale lavender flowers mid-summer. (XL) $8.00

52. Cream Cheese (Lachman) Adorable, medium green leaf with crisp, cream margin on tiny clumper (S) $15.00

53. Crepe Suzette (Lachman) Small, ovate green leaves with a good creamy margin form a nice little mound. (N) $10.00

54. Crested Surf (Benedict) Leaves are long and narrow with a white margin. The center is very interesting, as it changes shades of green throughout the growing season. Rapid growth, purple flowers. (M) $8.00

55. Crusader (Lachman) Narrow white margins on dark green, heart-shaped leaves that have a sheen, lavender flowers in July. (L) $8.00

56. Dark Star (Herold) Distinctive, tapering blue leaves having cream edge and quickly forming an arching clump. (M) $8.00

57. Daybreak (Aden) All-over large plant with bright golden foliage. A stunning mature specimen, growing low to the ground. (L) $10.00

58. Days End (Zilis) A sport from H. Daybreak with the same lovely habits and a bonus, nicely contrasting, green centered leaves. (XL) $12.00

59. Delta Dawn (Vaughn) Bright yellow leaves, having a white margin and white flowers, a seldom seen combination, allow a nice growing plant. (L) $15.00

60. Diamond Tiara (Zilis) Small, medium green leaves with white margin, good growth rate into a full clump. (M) $8.00

61. Diana Remembered (Kulpa) A good growing sport of H. Seventh Heaven, bearing a nice white margin on its green leaves. Large, fragrant white flowers make this a very nice hosta. (M) $20.00

62. Don Stevens (Seaver) Dark glossy green leaves having a yellow margin, red petioles and dark purple flowers that all combine to create a stand-out specimen. (L) $10.00

63. Dorset Blue (Smith/Aden) From the Tardiana grex; thick, blue-green, heart-shaped leaves, typically nice and slow growing. (S) $8.00

64. Dylan’s Dilly (Walden West) This new unique little hosta has creamy, near heart-shaped leaves that are slightly wavy and have a varying green edge. (S) $15.00

65. Ebb Tide (Elslager ) This sport of H. montana Aureomarginata has the parent’s wonderful characteristics, plus its own. The leaves are also wavy, crinkly and streaky. (L) $25.00

66. El Capitan (Lachman) Heavily corrugated rounded foliage edged with a band of creamy yellow. This is an underused good grower. (L) $10.00

67. Ellerbroek Large mound, leaf is wide, deep green with gold margin. Will tolerate a little more sun. (L) $6.00

68. Elvis Lives (Avent) Narrow blue leaves arching downward and bearing wavy margins, lavender flowers, good grower. (M) $10.00

69. Emerald Tiara (Walters) Round, gold leaves with medium green margins, rapid grower, purple flowers in July. (M) $8.00

70. Emily Dickinson (Lachman) Attractive variable creamy margin on a green-based leaf, flowers are fragrant, too! Bright lavender from mid-July into August. (M/L) $6.00

71. Fall Bouquet (Aden) Dark green leaves that are narrow and wavy, purplish petioles and flaring lavender flowers, a pretty touch to the fall garden. (S) $6.00

72. Fan Dance (Benedict) This hosta has thin green margins on chartreuse leaves that lighten as the season progresses. Site with good light. (M) $12.00

73. Fire and Ice (Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery) A Looker! Pure white center with nice contrasting dark green edge and good growth. (M) $10.00

74. Formal Attire (Vaughn) Large, good substanced leaves starting out with wide yellow margins and turning creamy white by mid-season. A lovely plant! (XL) $18.00

77. Fortunei Aureomarginata (Hylander) Dark green leaves with a gold margin. (M) $4.00

78. Fragrant Blue (Aden) Large frosty blue ovate leaves combine with near-white scented flowers to form an attractive specimen. (M) $10.00
