This year we are listing 240 different hosta varieties. Each cultivar starts with the item number followed by name, hybridizer, descriptive information, and price.

157. Pandora’s Box (Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery) It’s tiny leaf has a white and green center, blending to dark green margins. A must have! (D) $18.00

158. Paradigm (Walden West) This plant is sturdy and beautiful! Leaves are gold in the middle and green on the edge. (L) $15.00

159. Paradise Power (Fransen) This is the green-edged form of H. Sunpower. Wavy leaves form a vase-shaped clump. (M) $20.00

160. Pathfinder (Brigg’s Nursery) A reverse sport of the ever popular H.’Francee’. A good amount of vigor for a speckled white centered plant. (M) $15.00

161. Patriot (Machen) Sensational sport of H. Francee with wider, wavier margins; same rapid growth rate and flowering as H. Francee. Named Hosta of the Year for 1997. (M/L) $10.00

162. Patriot’s Fire (Summers/Walek) A very unusual plant that is not widely sold. A green leaf and cream margin and varying streaks throughout it. (M) $20.00

163. Paul’s Glory (Hofer/Ruh) Chosen 1999 Host of the Year by the American Hosta Growers Association because of its interesting colors and good growth habits. This gold-centered, dark edge leafed hosta is a keeper! (L) $15.00

164. Peace (Aden) Blue-green leaves with white and chartreuse margins, lavender flowers. (M) $12.00

165. Peedee Gold Flash (Syre-Herz) Leaves are lanceolate and flat, yellow center with bright green margins, purple flowers. (S) $8.00

166. Permanent Wave (Banyai) Medium green, long wavy leaves and white flowers. Nice! (M) $8.00

167. Piedmont Gold (Payne) Smooth, bright yellow, ruffled leaves with an upright habit; white flowers in mid-summer. still one of the best clumps of bright gold. (L) $6.00

168. Pineapple Upsidedown Cake (Zilis) Still pretty new and definitely interesting. Narrow, long wavy leaves begin all green and develop into gold-centered with green margins. A H. Pineapple Poll sport. (M) $15.00

169. plantaginea ( ) Light green, shiny leaves with white, very fragrant flowers; the one that started all the fragrance. (L) $8.00

170. Platinum Tiara (Walters) Yellow-green leaves with a white margin. (S) $8.00

171. Polar Moon (NR) A sport of H. August Moon having its gold in the center and dark green on the edge. Similar good growth rate. (M) $15.00

180. Revolution (Walters/Van Eijk-Bos/Van Erven) A white centered and speckled, twice removed sport of H.’Patriot’, with good contrasting dark green margins. (M) $15.00

181. Riptide (Sellers) A good growing bluish-green leaved plant with red petioles. (M) $12.00

182. Royal Flush (Savory) This plant offers some unusual color combinations on its arching leaves. It’s wide, light yellow margins are offset by olive green centers. (M) $25.00

183. Royal Standard (Grulleman/Wayside/AHS) Outstanding for shiny, deep green leaves and lots of fragrant white flowers. Excellent sun tolerance. (XL) $6.00

184. Sagae (Watanabe) (formerly H. fluctuans Variegated) Large, heart-shaped, frosty green slightly wavy leaves with a bright, pale yellow margin. Forms a striking vase-shaped specimen. A must for the collector. Pale lavender flowers in July. Named 2000 Hosta of the Year! (L) $12.00

186. Samuel Blue (Krossa) Wonderful powdery, intense blue with upright habit, an oldie but goodie. (M/L) $8.00

196. Showboat (Lachman) Large, wide, elongated dark green leaves with a wide creamy white margin, the edges of the leaves turn up; lavender flowers. (M/L) $12.00

197. sieboldiana Elegans (AHS) Found in many gardens, the grandfather of large blue hostas has large blue heavily corrugated leaves, near-white flowers in late June. Slow but, wow, what a mature clump! (L) $10.00

198. Silver Lode (Klehm) This plant is relatively new from Japan. It is one that changes all season long. It’s leaf, with twisted tip, has a white center that darkens to light green. (S/M) $18.00

199. Sitting Pretty (Aden) Leaves are lance-shaped and flat with good contrasting yellow centers and green edges. Late striped purple flowers. (N) $12.00

200. So Sweet (Aden) Lovely light green hosta having a nice white margin and fragrant near-white flowers in late summer. You’ll like this one. 1996 Hosta of the Year. (M) $6.00

201. Sparkling Burgundy (Savory) Vigorous, upright grower with thick heart-shaped leaves,speckled burgundy stems and leaf petioles. Good clump form. (S) $6.00

202. Spilt Milk (Seaver) Unique foliage that is blue-green and splashed with white streaks. Flowers are near-white, slow, but an outstanding specimen when mature! (M) $20.00

203. Stetson (Walters) Green centered leaves with creamy margins that semi-fold. (M) $8.00

204. Stiletto (Aden) Narrow green lance-shaped leaves with a thin, wavy, cream colored margin; grows rapidly, with purple striped flowers. A favorite! (N) $8.00

205. Striptease (Thompson) Leaves are chartreuse, bordered by wide green margins, then you’ll find a thin white line between the colors. Truly unique! (M/L) $15.00

206. Sugar & Cream (Zilis) Wavy medium green leaves with a crisp white edge, whitish, fragrant flowers in August, good grower. (L) $8.00

207. Sum & Substance (Aden) Huge, shiny chartreuse-gold, heavy substanced leaves, tall stalks of pale lavender flowers late July. Leave plenty of room for this classic! (XL) $8.00

208. Summer Fragrance (Vaughn) This vigorous grower has long light green foliage with a nice white border on its upright mound. Fragrant pale lavender flowers bloom from early August into September. (L) $6.00

209. Summer Music (Khlem) Near-white center with irregular gold/chartreuse borders on leaves that are egg shaped and thin, almost flowing. Needs a little more sun. (M) $15.00

210. Sun Power (Aden) Brilliant wavy gold leaves form a vase-shaped mound, stunning, light lavender flowers in July. A must! (L) $8.00

211. Sundance (Walters) Dark green leaves with a narrow cream-to-white margin form a dense arching mound; lavender flowers on tall scapes in July. (L) $6.00

225. ventricosa Aureomarginata (Henson/AHS) Large heart-shaped dark green leaf with a wavy margin that starts yellow and changes to creamy white in summer; tall stalks of bright purple flowers in July. (M/L) $6.00

229. Warwick Choice (Jones) Rare, large, medium green leaf with a pure white margin, slightly shiny and rippled. (L) $12.00

230. Warwick Curtsey (Jones) Long, heart shaped, blue-green leaves having a creamy yellow margin. (L) $12.00

231. Warwick Essence (L. Jones) Huge bluish-green arching mound that, perhaps, grows faster than any hosta I have seen. Just different enough! (XL) $12.00

232. Whirlwind (Kulpa) Leaves have unusual color combination; white, yellowish, yellow-green, with varying dark green margin. Inside leaf color varies with different amounts of light, heat and age. Lavender flowers in late July. A must have! (M) $15.00

233. White Christmas (Krossa) Ours are beautiful! Unusual amount of white between medium green wavy margins, although much variance occurs; lavender flower in mid-season. (S/M) $10.00
